“Beauty Queen” is the ravishing debut single from Verner Calvin, an American songwriter based in Taiwan.
The song sounds pretty intriguing as the deep opening guitar line gives some strong post-punk vibes. In the chorus though, the arrangement takes an unexpected turn to magical synths, playful guitars and a lightweight atmosphere. Verner’s soft voice is supported by Anna Peen’s gorgeous vocals and engrossing melodies. The track develops beautifully and promises more interesting works from this talented musician in the future.
