“Second Act” is a brilliant single from the multifaceted new album “Midwest Handshake” by Skittish, the project of Los Angeles-based, Minnesota-born musician Jeff Noller.
The incredibly lush and cinematic atmosphere of this wondrous piece is instantly charming. The beautifully crafted arrangement includes glowing piano and guitar lines, elevated even further by the bright sound of horns. Vocalist Gracie Huffman delivers a heartfelt and absolutely lovely performance, conveying the theme of “finding your way after moving to the big city.” And the gripping, expressive chorus makes “Second Act” an outstanding composition.
