Genre: Art Pop, Roots Rock
Paris-based singer-songwriter Flora Hibberd shared the intriguing first taste of her debut record, “Swirl,” to be released on November 15.
“Auto Icon” is a poetic, folky art pop / roots rock blend of nostalgia and playfulness. This inviting guitar-driven track feels light and airy, at times reminding of Creedence and Patti Smith. Hibberd’s magnetic singing, paired with cryptic lyrics, has a lot of character to it. The album’s wistful second single, “Canopy,” is also available for streaming now, and it’s a wonderful listen.
