“Somebody To You” is an absorbing, soulful work and the first original single from the upcoming debut album of Brooklyn-based Hot Hand Band.
The track explores love, affection and how we see ourselves in relationships: “
There’s no one I’d rather be than somebody to you.” R&B singer Denitia performs so softly and purely that you can almost feel how her exquisite vocals are melting in your ears. The dexterous playing of the brass section nevertheless sounds subtle and gentle. On “Somebody To You,” the band showed how a song can develop melodically and emotionally in a delicate yet confident way.
