Swiss band KUSH K has released their debut album “Lotophagi,” an outstanding record full of lyricism, improvisation, obscure sounds and magic.
“MRK” is a notable track off of the album, that starts with a solid bass and the swift rhythm of a bustling city. The vocals bring some tender and genuine touches to the composition. Then the chorus makes the city stop for a second and open up to a beautiful, contemplative shoegazy dream. By the end of the song, dream and reality merge into a spacey synth climax. The band shows a great talent experimenting with the structure, while not losing the charm of melodies.
